Vishten
For nearly 20 years, Vishtèn has infused Acadian traditional music with infectious energy, establishing itself as a key act on the North American Celtic music scene. Rooted in the Acadian communities of Prince Edward Island and the Magdalen Islands, the trio has received numerous accolades, including Album of the Year at both the ECMAs and Music PEI for Connexions, Artist of the Year at the Éloizes, and a JUNO nomination.
Today, Vishtèn brings together Emmanuelle LeBlanc, Pascal Miousse, and Megan Arsenault, whose collective creative energy is shaping a sound that is broader and bolder than ever, while remaining deeply rooted in the group’s Acadian heritage.
Rich vocal harmonies are central to this sound, intertwining with Pascal’s fiddle and electric guitar, Megan’s Rhodes piano, and Emmanuelle’s whistle, foot percussion, and snodhrán—her own invention that brings the rhythms of the bodhrán to a standing snare drum. Together, they create a musical world that is deeply rooted yet decidedly contemporary.
Set for release in early 2027, Vishtèn’s new album captures this evolution: a band continuing to reinvent itself, expand its sound, and push the boundaries of Acadian traditional music.
