Nick Schofield
Nick Schofield has been dubbed a "dazzling electronic artist" by Aquarium Drunkard and "synth maven" by Constellation records.
The forthcoming album, Blue Hour, marks his first foray into ambient jazz. Created as an ambient ode to Miles Davis' In A Silent Way, Blue Hour features the intuitive and totally improvised trumpet playing of Scott Bevins (No Cosmos) and introduces Schofield's childhood instrument, drums, to his ambient-electronic practice.
Schofield has performed at MUTEK in Montreal, National Sawdust in New York City and SXSW in Austin; his albums have received press coverage from Bandcamp Daily, The Guardian, and CBC Q. Nick has a BFA in Electroacoustic Studies from Concordia University, and works as Technical Director for artist-run-centre SAW and Debaser's Pique festival in Ottawa.
