Shivering Songs presents Bahamas this July 20

Shivering Songs is excited to present Bahamas’ return to Fredericton in a special show at the Playhouse this Monday, 20 July.

Tickets for Bahamas will go on sale this Friday, 27 March, at the Playhouse Box Office and online here. The show is open to people of all ages, while alcoholic beverages will be on sale for patrons over the age of 19.

Having already shared two swooning, critically lauded albums, Bahamas released their third installment this past August. Bahamas is Afie is a coming of age record. Self-titled and self-produced, it is the next step in the evolution of principle writer Afie Jurvanen’s songcraft, guitar mastery, and melodic pop hooks, following previous full-lengths Pink Strat (2009) and Barchords (2011).

Bahamas is Afie remains a sparse, moving, headphone album, complemented by a more developed arrangement of strings, brass, winds, orchestral percussion, and chamber choruses that transport the listener from moving seas to a search for strength, to a place of resolve and comfort. Having won a pair of 2015 Juno Awards for Songwriter of the Year and Adult Alternative Album, it’s no wonder the The Globe & Mail dubbed Jurvanen “a sublime, incomparable leading man.”
