Secondary Line-up Announcement

The Shivering Songs Festival is extremely pleased to add a slew of artists to its 2015 line-up: Skydiggers, Zeus, Gabrielle Papillion, Owen Steel, Highs and Sentimentals. The Festival has also declared that weekend passes are nearly sold out. Now celebrating its fifth year, Shivering Songs will take place January 22–25 at a number of intimate venues in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Juno winning band Skydiggers has been vital to Canada’s folk-rock scene, both with its esteemed catalog and through collaborations with Blue Rodeo, Gord Downie and Cowboy Junkies. Located at a marvelous intersection of tension and harmony, Toronto’s Zeus has quickly earned a cult following and high praise from outlets such as Rolling Stone, SPIN, the New York Times and NPR. Shivering Songs has also announced clever songstress Gabrielle Papillion, beloved Maritime artist Owen Steel, fast-rising Toronto band Highs and New Brunswick Emerge Festival prize winners Sentimentals.

In addition to their festival show, Skydiggers will also mentor a number of local musicians throughout the weekend, as part of a song writing intensive jointly presented by the Charlotte Street Arts Center and Shivering Songs. For both appearances, the band will be a duo featuring Andy Maize and Josh Finlayson.

Finally, it was revealed that Buck 65 will host the Festival’s Songwriters & Storytellers afternoon. That event will feature a number of varied songwriters from all across North America, as well as Sean Michaels, the 2014 Giller Prize winner.

Part of Fredericton’s FROSTival, Shivering Songs began in 2011 when New Brunswick chamber-folk group The Olympic Symphonium curated a weekend of music along with the release of their third album. The overwhelming success of the inaugural Festival made it apparent there was a demand for folk music in beautiful, quiet settings in the heart of Fredericton, and the band decided to make it an annual event.

The Festival had previously announced Owen Pallett, Buck 65, Amelia Curran, Bry Webb, Greg MacPherson, Peter Broderick, Andy Shauf, Alan Jeffries & 50 Shades Of Blue and Sean Michaels for its 2015 edition. For more information and details on tickets, visit
